INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

International women's day is celebrated on 8th March every year to show respect to the achievements of womens in the world. The achievements may be cultural, political or sociaeconomical. It brings special attention towards the rights of women. It brings attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights and violence and abuse against the women's.
In early 20th century it was organised by socialist party of America in New York. It inspired Germans to propose a special women's day at the 1910 international socialist women's conference . After 1917, international women's day was celebrated as a national holiday on 8th March.
International women's day is widely celebrated in France. In Italy the holiday is observed by men by giving yellow Mimosa flowers to women. In 1946 , Yellow Mimosa flower is chosed as the symbol of international women's day by Teressa mattei.
